Markem-Imaje announced the global launch of the SmartLase® UV500, its new 5-watt UV laser printer.

The SmartLase UV500 builds on three decades of experience at Markem-Imaje in laser technology and delivers the most precise, high-quality coding on challenging materials. With the added benefit of minimal heat transfer, it is perfectly suited for high-density and delicate materials including hard plastics, recyclable films, metal, and glass.
 
The SmartLase UV500 is capable of rapid coding for traceability including advanced text messages, logos, and complex 2D codes. This new, powerful, and robust UV printer has been engineered to provide unsurpassed marking speed for fast, demanding applications.

Virtually maintenance-free, the SmartLase UV500 reduces operational expenses (OPEX) through fewer line stoppages and no added costs like expensive consumables or external cooling. Meanwhile, chemical-free production helps businesses achieve sustainability compliance goals and the inedible, permanent codes protect against counterfeiting.

Designed with reliability and safety at its heart and with Ingress Protection up to 55, the SmartLase UV500 is designed for challenging manufacturing environments.
